THE BIG ONE ON JULY 11TH - A MOUTHWATERING LINE-UP!
We've got two of the funkiest bands in Suffolk - Small Town Bullies and South of the Border - lined up to play at what promises to be the funkiest Funkfest so far! We've also got Housework, a superb funky band from Colchester, on the bill for their first Ipswich appearance. I strongly recommend having a listen to the great, funk fulled tracks on their myspace page. We also welcome back Head-Full - a brilliant young funk rock band from Bury St Edmunds. These guys played at FunkFest in May and everybody was gobsmacked that a band so young (they are all just 15!) could a) play so well and b) construct such great, original material. They are also, one of the few bands you'll see with a girl drummer - a very funky one at that! I'm also hoping that Tom - who people will know for his mad, enthusiastic dancing! - will do a DJ set for us. Entry will be a fiver and that'll include food served around 9pm. Things will get under way at around 5.30pm.

FunkFests in 2008
Saturday 8th March at the Steamboat Tavern, Ipswich - A fantastic night of funk kicked off by FunkFest regulars Loose Juice (who stepped in quite late in the day to replace Soulberry Jam who dropped out) and rounded off by formidable 8-piece funksters Capricorn who really got the place bouncing!
Sunday 4th May at Zing Wine Bar, Ipswich. The first FunkFest held at what is fast becoming the home of live funk music in East Anglia, let alone Ipswich. Loose Juice and Groove Cartel were both making their Zing debuts and put in storming sets to entrall the enthusiastic packed crowd.
Saturday 2nd August at the Steamboat Tavern, Ipswich. FunkFest all dayer with five bands including Hoss, Mondatta Funk, Hot Sauce, Small Town Bullies and The Slick Notes. Entry £5, includes food served at 6pm and 8pm.
