FUNKFEST ON 24TH AUGUST OFF - BUT SOUTH OF THE BORDER ARE STILL PLAYING!
Sadly, Zing Bar have announced that they are going to stop hosting live music during August and that means that the FunkFest scheduled for the 24th August is now cancelled. However, South of the Border, one of the two bands who were going to be playing at that gig, are now playing a full set at the Steamboat Tavern on the same night so all is not lost!
FUNKFEST IN SEPTEMBER?
I am hoping to hold a mini-FunkFest at the Steamboat in September. Keep checking back for details!
FUNKFEST ALL-DAYER - THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Thanks to everyone who came to the FunkFest all dayer on August 2nd. There were some fantastic funky performances throughout the event and everyone seemed to have a great time.
What Are FunkFests?
FunkFests are funky live music events organised by funk DJ and enthusiast, Daniel Harvey. Each FunkFest features two or more funk bands and funky DJing in between - basically a whole evening dedicated to the fabulous genre of funk music with the main focus on the live bands. Launched in July 2007, there have now been several FunkFests featuring a number of East Anglia's finest funk bands. Most of them have been held at Steamboat Tavern in Ipswich so far but one was also held at Zing Wine Bar on May 4th 2008 and will be back there again at the end of August. To truly find out what FunkFests are all about, check out dates below and come along to see for yourself!
FunkFests in 2008

Sunday 4th May at Zing Wine Bar, Ipswich. The first FunkFest held at what is fast becoming the home of live funk music in East Anglia, let alone Ipswich. Loose Juice and Groove Cartel were both making their Zing debuts and put in storming sets to entrall the enthusiastic packed crowd.
